2nd Cavalry Division
2nd Cavalry Division was formed on the 13th of September 1914. The Division remained on the Western Front in France and Flanders throughout the war. It took part in most of the major actions.1914

The Division was selected to advance into Germany as an advance screen for Fourth Army and form part of the Occupation Force. The move began on 17 November, Cinet and Rochefort were reached five days later and the 5th Cavalry Brigade crossed the German border south of St Vith on 1 December. The Division ceased to exist at midnight 31st March / 1st of April 1919.

If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes.
