Stuart Ramsay born Bothwell, Lanark on 10th September 1887, son of William & Helen. Educated Glasgow High School, Pre-War he was an Accountant by trade.
He went to New Zealand in 1913 and returned to England in 1915.
Gazetted 2nd Lieut. on 10 May 1915 he joined the Loyal North Lancashire Regt and promoted tp Lieut the following October. Twice MID and awarded DSO 1 August 1916 for 'Conspicuous Gallantry in action".
He was promoted to Captain in June 1916 and killed in action on Messines Ridge on the 2nd of June 1917.
