David Robert Davies

Additional Information:

He was born in 1893, d.1970. Volunteered in early 1915, went to France in early 1916 as 2/lt. Took part in the battles of the Somme, wounded at some point in 1916. Badly wounded at some point in 1917 and lost an eye and was subsequently invalided out.

Post war he married my Grandmother and was senior teacher at Technical school teaching engineering drawing. Volunteered (!) in l939 soon after war broke out and served in the RA in some of the forts in the Humber (?) estuary defending against coastal attacks.
