209144 Lt. Edward Basil Bury British Army 6th Btn. Suffolk Regiment from:Cambridge Edward Bury was the only son of Professor John Bagnall Bury, Regius Professor of History, Cambridge University, one of the greatest historians of the time. He married Phyllis de Kay of New York who remarried in 1940. According to her second husband John Hall Wheelock (important American Poet), she divorced Lt. Edward Basil Bury in 1940 so that he does not appear to have died of war wounds as reported. The 6th Suffolk Regiment apparently was part of the Territorial Home Defence Army.
