William Ewing. Private 302871, 1st/8th Battalion Durham Light Infantry was the son of Hugh and Mary Ewing (nee Dorrian) and husband of Catherine Ewing (nee Hagan) of 63 Wansbeck Road Jarrow. William was born, enlisted and was living Jarrow. He died age 35 on 9th April 1918 and is remembered on the
Ploegsteert Memorial. Panel 8 and 9
