He was born, lived and enlisted Jarrow, son of Robert and Mary Ann Ambrose (nee Headley) O1911 census William Ambrose age 21 Private is with 1st Battalion King's Own Scottish Borderers, his mother Mary Ann Ambrose and family are at 7 Burns Street, Jarrow.
William is buried in Honnechy British Cemetery and is commemorated on the Triptych in St. Paul's Church, Jarrow.
