Patrick Aspell served with the 2nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he was aged 37 when he died on 26th May 1915. He was born in Ballinakil, Galway, Ireland and lived in Jarrow. On the 1911 census he is listed as Patrick Aspell age 31 Platers Helper in Shipyard is with his wife Mary (nee Browne) and children at 17 Grey Street back, Jarrow.
He enlisted in Wallsend.
Patrick is remembered in Ypres on the Menin Gate Memorial and is commemorated on the Triptych in St. Paul's Church Jarrow.
