George William Brown was aged 21 when he died on 16th April 1918 whilst serving with the 15th Battalion Royal Scots. (formerly 4496 H.L.I.)
He was the son of William Borill Brown and Margaret Ann Brown of 9 Lord Nelson Street Tyne Dock South Shields. On the 1911 census he is listed as George William Brown age 13 at School living with his parents William Borill and Margaret Ann Brown and family at 55 Redwood Road, South Shields
Born in Jarrow, he enlisted in South Shields. George is remembered on the
Ploegsteert Memorial.
