He was born, lived and enlisted in Jarrow. Son of James and Mary Drewery (nee Horn) and husband of Elsie Drewery (nee Robinson) of 105 Salem Street Jarrow. His younger brother Joseph Drewery was also one of the fallen
Thomas is buried in Jarrow Cemetery and is commemorated on the Triptych in St. Paul's Church, Jarrow.
