Spr. Frank Carman
British Army 68th Field Company Royal Engineers

Frank Carman was born in 1888 and served with the Royal Engineers. He attested on 26th August 1914 with the Royal Engineers, (Pioneer) atChester (living 12 Trafford Street, Newtown, Chester)
On 1st September he transferred to 68th Field Coy. Pioneer
24 June 1915 with 68th Field Coy, Sapper
Frank Carman. No. 41527 was tested as Pioneer Platelayer at Milford Camp, Milford Station. Three days later he embarked for the B.E.F. in France. On 19th of August he was wounded in France and on the 1st of September he was transferred to R.E. S.C. Newark.
On 27th June 1916 he transferred to 201 Field Company and Embarked to G Base depot in France. On 31st October 1917 he is recorded as being at A Depot Camp. R.E. Conway, Morfa Camp and again on 16th April 1918 he is at A Depot Camp, R.E. Conway. He returns to France on the 25th of April 1918
to rejoin the B.E.F. He is demobilised on 22nd February 1919 and assessed for a war pension on the 4th April 1919 :Frank Carman. Single. aged 33 of James Street, Newtown, Chester.
