Pte. Frederick Frith
British Army 10th (Battersea) Battalion Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment

Fred Frith volunteered in November 1915 and served with the 10th (Service) Battalion (Battersea), Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment.
On 6th May 1916, the battalion landed at Le Havre, before engaging in various actions on the Western Front.
Fred fought in several important engagements, including the Somme, Ypres and Armentières.
In October 1916, Frederick was badly wounded at the Somme and invalided home, where he received protracted hospital treatment before being discharged as medically unfit for further service in July 1917.
He was awarded the General Service and Victory Medals.
