Michael Shea enlisted on the 19th of July 1915, aged 19, and a week later was attached to 5th Battalion, later he was detached from Howe Battalion to Stavros for duty while serving with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force.
At some point he was with the 7th Reserve Battalion at Blandford.
Sometime late 1915 or early 1916 he was on HMT Lake Michigan on his way to Mudros:West, where he arrived on 10th of January 1916.
He embarked on HMT Briton on 7th of May 1916 and disembarked at Marseille on 12th of May 1916.
The next we know is that he was injured in fighting near the Ancre on 13th of November and died from his injuries on the 19th.
He was treated at the 9th Casualty Clearing Station with a Shrapnel Wound.
