According to his youngest brother, Frederick, Harry Prince joined the Territorial Force prior to World War One. Frederick describes seeing him wearing his red tunic, white piping and epaulets, blue trousers, pill box hat and highly polished buttons.
As a volunteer with the TF Henry was one of the first to be called upon to go to France.
It is understood Henry was subjected to a gas attack at some time during the conflict and also served with the Machine Gun Corps. He survived the war.
