2nd Lt. Cuthbert Turner

2nd Lieutenant Cuthbert Turner served with a Territorial unit, the 4th (Westmorland and Cumberland) Battalion, Border Regiment.
He was the son of Cuthbert Turner and Mary Turner (nee Woodman) of Derwenthaugh, Swalwell, Co. Durham.
At the time of his death, he was attached to the 7th Battalion, Border Regiment in 51st Brigade, 17th (Northern) Division, one of the 'New Army' battalions. Second Lt Turner was killed in action in the 2nd Battle of the Scarpe on the 23rd April 1917, aged 23.
He is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
