Cpl. William Home
British Army 1st Battalion Queens Own Cameron Highlanders
from:Clatt, Aberdeenshire
(d.14th Sep 1914)
William Home was my great uncle. I have his medal trio and cap and badge, but, sadly, no photo or death plaque,
William enlisted in 1906 in Edinburgh. He was my grandfather's brother who served in the Great War with 1st Battalion Scots Guards and was badly wounded at Loos in September 1915. He was discharged due to wounds in 1917.
He is commemorated on the War Memorial at Clatt, Aberdeenshire.
He was born William Home Andersen, but gave his name as William Home due to enlisting underage at 15.
