Pte. John James O'Hare
British Army 1/5th Btn. Northumberland Fusiliers
from:Newcastle upon Tyne
(d.25th May 1916)
John James O'Hare was my great uncle on my dad's side. His sister was pregnant with my father when her brother was killed on 25th May 1916. My dad, John James Younger, was born on 5th June 1916, 15 days after her brother's death.
My grandfather was in the same regiment as his brother-in-law and we think may have been with him when he died and was also present at his funeral.
We have learnt from documents that he was one of 5 men killed that day and that they are all laid to rest in La Laiterie Military Cemetery.
