John Henry Knott British Army 1st Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment from:Lincoln, Lincs (d.2nd July 1916) John Knott, my great uncle, enlisted in the 1st Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment in 1915 he was killed in action 2nd July 1916 at the Bttle of the Somme. His name is on the Thiepval Monument. Additional Information: John Henry Knott, son of John Henry Knott and Sarah Elizabeth Crompton Dobson, was born on 29/7/1897 in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.
