Edmund Seare was my Great-Grandfather's Cousin. He was born in 1888 at St.Mary Cray, near Orpington, Kent. He worked as a 'Beneath Ground Worker' in a Colliery. He moved to Wales in approximately 1909 and was married in 1910. His wife was called Mary M Jones. They lived at 4 Gertrude Street, Abercynon in Llanwonno, Wales. He carried on working as a collier in Pontypridd. Edmund and Mary had 4 children together: a daughter, Sarah J Seare (born 1910) and 3 sons, Alfred (born 1912), David (born 1913) and Edmund (born 1914).
He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
