Pte. James Smith McLauchlan

James McLauchlan served with the 10th Gordon Highlanders and 44th MGC. He was killed in action at the Battle of Pozieres in 1916, age 24. He was formerly a coal miner at Logan's Pit in Motherwell. He left all his worldly goods to his nephew and namesake, James Smith McLauchlan Blunn age 6.
He was remembered in the Motherwell Times, on the 15th of September 1916 by his sister, Mrs Sophia Blunn and also remembered with honour on the Thiepval Memorial.
