Pte. Thomas Charles Albrighton
British Army 1st Btn. Royal Warwickshire Regiment
from:Baddesley Ensor
(d.3rd Sep 1918)
My grandfather Thomas Albrighton, my dad's dad, was killed in the last couple of months of the war. He left his wife pregnant after home leave and my dad was born in April 1919. We think it's doubtful if he even knew his wife was pregnant but he certainly never got to know he had a son.
He was a postmaster in Baddesley Ensor before the war and was married to Annie (nee Chetwynd).
My dad served in the RAF in WWII but always missed not having a father. His childhood was difficult we believe. What a waste and a tragedy.
