My Grandmother did not know her father, she was 4 years old when he was killed in the war. By chance I typed in his name in Google Search and his obituary came up. It had his parents name, his wife's name and their address which I was able to confirm through birth certificates.
My Grandmother unfortunately had passed away before I found this information and my Mother has since passed but this year I will visit Ypres Menin Gate as I travel from Australia to deliver my hand made Poppy to honour his sacrifice for his country.
Unfortunately, there is no grave for our brave Great Grandfather but it is comforting to know his name stands with many on the wall of Menin Gate.
