Pte. Albert Bartrup

Albert Bartrup was one of ten brothers, five of whom are known to have served in WWI, four in the Army and one in the Merchant Navy.
Albert (born 1881) served with the 10th Battalion, Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He was killed in action at the Battle of Arras on 28th April 1917.
His younger brother Walter (born 1898) of the 2nd Battalion Hampshire Regiment died two weeks earlier on 14th April 1917 from wounds sustained at the Battle of Arras.
Alfred (Walter's twin brother) served with the 16th Battalion, Rifle Brigade, Prince Consort's Own and was killed in action on 5th August 1917 at Ypres.
Frederick (born 1896), the fourth Bartrup brother serving in the Army (Rifle Brigade), survived the war.
