241623 Private Walter William Waldram British Army 20th Btn. Durham Light Infantry from:Eston, Yorkshire Walter Waldram, my grandfather was born on 26th of January 1896. He returned to Eston when he was discharged from the 20th Btn DLI on 1st of January 1919 from South Camp, Ripon. He married Edna Mary Muriel Leng on 22nd of November 1919 and they immigrated to Australia in 1924 with their children Enid and Alfred. He lived and worked in Kersley and Cessnock in New South Wales. He passed away in 1969. I remember him singing and whistling the DLI anthem when I was a child.
