Pte. Peter Douglas MM.
British Army 13th Btn. Rifle Brigade
from:Perth
Peter Douglas was a comrade of William Beasley VC who was awarded the Military Medal for the same action at Bucquoy for taking a German position under extraordinary circumstances, he was awarded the Military Medal for his part in this action.
Peter was wounded in the leg, something he referred to as a bee sting. He never spoke about the details of the war and died aged 93.
A beautiful father to my Mother, Father in Law to my father, Grandfather to my Brother and I but sadly Alzheimer's robbed him of the joy of his twin Great Granddaughters that he would have loved dearly as the man he was.
Sadly I have been unable to find his service records and have only found this incredible history by research. He started active service in May 1915.
