Pte. Alexander Burke

Alexander Burke enlisted in the Royal Artillery at Clonmel, Co Tipperary, Ireland on 13/4/1896 and served, for 7 years, abroad - at St Georges Bermuda, Halifax Nova Scotia and Victoria British Columbia, Canada until his discharge on 27/4/1903.
He returned to Ireland married and had 3 children.
He reenlisted to the Royal Irish Regiment, again at Clonmel, at the commencement of WW1, or shortly after at the age of 41. On 12th of February 1916 he died in Queenstown Military Hospital, Cobh, Co Cork, Ireland from a perforated stomach.
