248787 CQMS. Miles Dracup MID.British Army Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry Miles Dracup was my father. He spoke little about his WW1 experiences. I believe he was in the trenches in France before being transferred to Bulgaria to fight the Turks. I have no clue as to why he got an MID. He talked about running over bloated bodies to go into battle. He had a revolver which he said he took off a Turkish officer. The revolver had 5 chambers, whereas our revolvers have 6. We handed this into the police when he died. I would like to know which Battalion he was with and as much as possible about his war.
During WW2 he was with the Home Guard, where he had his old rank of Sgt.
