Triple Honours for St Helens Warrant Officer.
"Company Sergeant Major Owen Jones of the 2nd Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Regiment of 40 Mill St, St Helens has been awarded the following for gallantry in action:- Military Medal (taking command of the Company when his Company Commander was killed), Medialle Militaire (1918 awarded by the French Army), Croix de Guerre with palm (French 1918 First Class Awarded by the French Army). He has served in South Africa, Mauritius, India, Germany, East Africa, Palestine and France and is at present recovering in Pilkington Special Hospital from wounds received in France."
