Pte. Frederick William White
British Army 25th Btn. Royal Welsh Fusiliers
from:Chirbury, Shropshire
(d.21st Oct 1917)
Frederick White was the youngest sibling of my grandmother Annie White (5 children in total). Their parents were Robert White and Annie.
Frederick and his siblings were born in Walton on the Hill Liverpool, where their father had a dry salting business.
By 1901 the whole White's family have moved from Liverpool to Chirbury Shropshire. Robert now ran the Herbert Arms Hotel and farmed. As Frederick was late 20's when he signed up he was possibly at home helping on the farm and in the hotel.
His closest in age brother Charlie called his first born son Frederick. This Frederick was always known as Fred, so possibly my great uncle went by the same name. Family story goes that he was riding camels went out in Gaza, I have not found any information to confirm this as yet.
