Sgt Sidney Thomas Rew
British Army Royal Scots
(d.16th Apr 1921)
Sidney Rew was listed as missing on the 9th of June 1916 following an incident where he must have been injured, as we know he went on to Ireland, Co.Claire, where he was shot in Ennis, on the 16th of April 1921. This is recorded in the local newspaper, his body returned by train to England.
He was buried in London Cemetery with his elder brother, as he requested when he joined The Lodge of Unity Peace And Concord, Military Masons, in Scotland, before leaving for service in Ireland.
We have requested his name be entered on Brookwood Military Cemetery Memorial.
