from:Gainsborough, SK
Dad, Raymond Taylor was born in England in 1897and immigrated to Canada in April, 1912.
He resided in Gainsborough, SK, which is 3 miles from the Manitoba border. As Winnipeg was his closest recruitment office he signed up with the 44th Battalion on the 28th of May 1917.
Dad didn't say much about the war although he did come home with a bullet wound in both his right arm and the ankle on his right side. These bothered him the rest of his life. He returned with an honorable discharge on 4th of March 1919.
In November 1940 Dad married Althea Raymond, my mother. They had three children.
He passed away on in 1974 and is buried at Gainsborough, SK Cemetery.
