Alfred Hills was born in New York to an English family, who subsequently returned to England in the early 1900's. He was a regular soldier as the 1911 census has him in an Army base at Plympton St Mary Devon.
He went to France on 16th of February 1915 and was killed on 1st of June 1915 and is buried in Brown's Road Military Cemetary, Festubert, France
I am his great nephew and found a photograph of him and his date of death when clearing out some old papers of my father.
