Wing Cmdr. Mortimer Nugent "Hank" Hancocks MiD.
Royal Flying Corps
from:Birmingham
My Father, Mortimer Hancocks, flew Sopwith Camels in WW1, ending as a Flight Lieutenant, promoted to Squadron Leader, then Wing Commander.
He was sent to Canada to help with training pilots for WW2. My Mother, Ida Mary Hancocks, later joined him there. I have at least four photograph albums of his journey across Canada from east to west (Weyburn)
I know he had four medals and a Mention in Despatches but I do not know what that was for. I just have the certificate signed by Winston Churchill.
I would like to find out more of his time there, warts and all.
Dad died 1968
