260361 Pte John Edward Mason British Army 1/8th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment from:Lindridge, Worcestershire (d.9th August 1918) John Mason (known as Jack) was in the Worcestershire Regiment. He was an enlisted soldier prior to the outbreak of war in 1914. His allocated regimental number in 1914 was 4833, he was discharged from the army by a doctor in 1914 but then re-enlisted into the 1st/8th Battalion of the Worcesters. He lost his life in Italy near to Val Di Portule on the WW1 Italian Front on Friday 9th August 1918 aged 27 years and is buried at Barenthal Military Cemetery.
