British Army 7th Btn. South Lancashire Regiment

John Balmer served with the 7th South Lancashire Regiment. After 3 months overseas he was returned to the UK and admitted to hospital on 9th of October 1915 suffering from the effects of old fracture right ankle. He was discharged from hospital on 23rd of October 1915 and returned to duty. His religion is recorded as Church of England.
