Pte. Ernest Wade Reedman

Ernest Reedman was the youngest of 6 children born in 1899 to William and Mary Jane (nee Bollams) Reedman. His enlistment papers cannot be located, probably lost amongst those that were burnt. But he probably enlisted, or was conscripted, when he was 18 on 3rd of March 1917, joining the 7th Battalion, Royal Fusiliers as a Private. Barely a year later, his Battalion was involved in the German Spring Offensive on the Somme. Ernest was assumed dead, killed in action, on 27th of March 1918.

He was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal, and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial in France.
