Emmanuel Rowland

Emmanuel Rowland born 1887, grew up in St Thomas, Exeter. He worked firstly as a farm labourer, working for his father then joined the Great Western Railway as a porter around 1910. He joined the Royal Garrison Artillery in Plymouth, No.3 Depot and joined the war in 1914. His rank was Bombardier before his death in 1915, dying at home of pneumonia at the age of 27.
