My daughter and I have found Ralph Underwood's military record through The National Archives of Australia. We knew he was injured in the war, and now, for the first time, we have read his service record. On 25th of April 1918 he was wounded in action. On 22nd of February 1918 he was sent to hospital, as Lance Corporal. 14th of May 1918 first visit to hospital, shell wound to right leg. 29th of April 1918 admitted to Fulham Military Hospital, right leg shell. 21st of February rejoined unit. 29th of April 1918 Invalided to UK, Elbow. 27th of May 1919 Discharged from AIF.
