My wife's grandfather, Clifford North, was a Lieutenant in the 25th Battalion, Machine Gun Corps in WWI. We have his cap and lapel badges and his certificate of being mentioned in dispatches (issued 1st of July 1919 after the end of the war). At the time of demobilisation in 1919 he was Acting Captain.
