17th January 1916 On this day:  Holding the Line 2nd Royal Fusiliers depart Mundros   The 2nd Royal Fusilers sailed from Mundros aboard the Empress of Britain bound for Alexandria. Quiet Day   6th County of London Brigade RFA report this was the quietest day yet in Loos sector. The enemy hardly shelled at all, except a little on our front line trenches. Many aeroplanes were up which may have accounted for this.
