Fate 7 Jul 1916 - Lost after this date while on a mission to lay mines off Kinnaird Head, Scotland. 33 dead (all hands lost). U 77 got at least some of her mines out before her loss.
Previously recorded fate.
Lost in a minehandling accident off Dunbar, Scotland. The wreck at that location is undoubtedly that of U 74.There was another U 77 in World War Two.
That boat was launched from its shipyard on 23 Nov 1940 and commissioned into the Kriegsmarine on 18 Jan 1941.If you can provide any additional information, please add it here.
