Reg Watts was my Grandmothers brother. We believe that Reg never met a son who was born to his Irish girlfriend May Adams (from Belfast) as he died whilst she was pregnant.Helen Banks
Sgt. Archibald Edmund Joseph Farrell 2nd Btn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers
My dad, Ned Farrell, was wounded at Dunkirk by a Stuka dive-bomber. He fought in North Africa and in Italy at Monte Cassino, where he was on the hill for 3 weeks and where most of his mates were killed.Tim Farrell
L/Cpl. Reginald John Hammond 2nd Btn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (d.28th December 1943)
Reginald Hammond was my father. He worked as a gardener for the Derby Parks Department. He was killed in Italy when I was almost three months old.
RSM. Jacob Augustus "Jack" Stewart 2nd Btn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers
Jacob Stewart was born in Antrim, Northern Ireland in 1907. He served with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers He was a Sergeant Major. Jack was evacuated from Dunkirk and was also at Anzio and rested in Palestine in July 1944.Sherry
Fusilier Edward English 2nd Btn. Iniskilling Fusiliers
Edward English was wounded on the 8th of August 1943 during the invasion of Sicily then went on to serve in Korea with the Royal Ulster Rifles and was taken POW.T. Kirby
Lt. Basil Maurice Beswick Fenton 2nd Btn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (d.19th Jul 1943)
Basil Fenton was my Uncle but I was not born until after his death. I am interested to know more about him.Michael Fenton
L/Cpl. George Hamilton 2nd Btn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers
My grandfather George Hamilton embarked in the United Kingdom for service overseas on 13th of March 1942 and disembarked in Madagascar on 6th of May 1942. He then re-embarked in Madagascar on 19 May 1942 to disembark in Bombay, India on 2 June 1942.He was in India for 29 days before being admitted into hospital at Ahmednagar on 1 July 1942, he was posted to the X2 sick list on the same day. On the 15 July 1942 he was discharged from hospital and taken off the sick list and taken back on the strength of 2nd Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. He was in India for a further 33 days before he embarked in Bombay and disembarked in Basra on 28 August 1942. He then did a training course while in Persia and Iraq with the special forces and taken on strength in a special boat squadron while in the Middle East.
From there he was in Italy and the Middle East and fought with Major Mayne in night raids against the Italians, he was admitted to hospital in the Middle East on 24 October 1943. On 14 November 1943 he was discharged to No.3 Convalescent Depot and was on the X2 sick list. He was discharged from the Convalescent Depot on 7 December 1943 and had leave in Egypt from the 10-19 December 1943. He was admitted to 53 General Hospital and back on the sick list on 24 February 1944 then transferred to 12 General Hospital and discharged on 18 April 1944. He was still in the Middle East but came back to the United Kingdom on 5 May 1944 and struck of strength Middle East Force.
George was discharged on 15 August 1944 as permanently unfit. Medals awarded 1936-43 Star, Africa Star, Italy Star, Defense medal and War medal 1939 - 1945.

My grandfather RSM William Magee was badly injured at Dunkirk during the BEF evacuation, he survived and continued to serve until the early 50s.Alan Magee
Albert Edward Johnston 2nd Btn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers
Albert E Johnston was my maternal Grandfather. I know that by the time he was married in 1938 (age 22) he was the rank of Corporal with the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, based at Catterick Camp as it is stated with his service number on his marriage certificate.Emma McLeod
Drmr. Robert Alphonsus Hannan 2nd Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers
Bob Hannan joined up as a drummer boy in 1926 and was stationed at Holywood Barracks, Co. Down until 1933 when he moved to Aldershot. He went on to serve in Shanghai, Singapore and returned to Catterick in 1938 vefore he was demobbed. He was recalled for the duration of WW2 and in 1940 was wounded at Dunkirk and moved by mine sweeper to Mansfield Notts Hospital. After recuperation he was sent Crieff in Scotland to train members of the Home Guard.Robert Hannan
