6th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers
6th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers was reformed in October 1940. From early 1942 they served with 210th Independent Infantry Brigade (Home), later redesignated 38th (Irish) Infantry Brigade, 6th Armoured Division. In February 1943 they transferred to 78th Battleaxe Division. They saw action in North Africa, Sicily and Italy.

GL Lewis served with the 6th Btn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers British Army. I have his unissued dogtags, made in preparation for deployment to the Far East and would love to get them home to his family. I am happy to cover all costs. Thomas Crumley was my uncle. He was killed on 14th June 1944 and is buried in Italy. I have a copy of the letter sent to my grandparents regarding his death.Elizabeth Fiddes

Thomas Crumley was my uncle who served and was killed in action in WW2. I have a photograph of him and a letter that was sent to my grandfather telling them of his death. I would like to learn more about him and where he is laid to rest in Italy.Betty Fiddes
Fus. Henry John Thomas Mandy 6th Btn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (d.17th April 1943 )
I don't know much about Henry Mandy other than what I have found in FindMyPast (1939 and WW11 records) and Ancestry. Henry John Thomas Mandy was born 24 Jan 1913 in West Ham, Essex. He is listed as missing with death date of 17th of April 1943, remembered at Medjez el Bab, Baja, Tunisia (Memorial of the Missing).In the 1939 Register he is recorded as a C W S Warehouseman Porter Fruit etc. Heavy Worker. Single. >DOB: 24 Jan 1913. Living with his parents - John A Mandy DOB: 24 May 1880, General Labourer Heavy Worker, Married; Matilda Mandy DOB: 09 Jan 1879, Unpaid Domestic Duties, Married. All living at address entered above.
I have checked parents through Ancestry and this fits. His mother is nee Tolley.

Fus. Norman Leslie Price 6th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (d.5th July 1944)
Norman Price was the son of Albert and Emily Price of 60 City Street, Belfast. He was wounded as the result of an air-burst artillery shell during the Battle for Monte Cassino on the evening or night of the 22nd/23rd of June 1944. Norman was taken to 65 British General Hospital, Naples, where he died of wounds on 5th of July 1944 aged 21. He is interred at Naples War Cemetery.Colin Price
Fus. Robert Trainor 6th Btn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (d.5th Aug 1943)
Robert Trainor served with the 6th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers He was from Tyrone and was 18 years old when he was killed on the 5th of August 1943 He is buried in the Catania War Cemetery, Sicily, Italy. He was the son of William and Sarah Trainor, of Castledawson
