11th (1st Queen's Westminsters) Battalion, Kings Royal Rifle Corps



   11th (1st Queen's Westminsters) Battalion, Kings Royal Rifle Corps was a territorial motor battalion based in London. It was formed in 1941 by the retitling of the 1st Battalion, Queen's Westminsters. They saw action as part of 24th Armoured Brigade in North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Greece.

Wanted: Digital copies of Group photographs, Scrapbooks, Autograph books, photo albums, newspaper clippings, letters, postcards and ephemera relating to WW2. We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home.

If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes. Sgt. Reginald Knott 11th Btn. Kings Royal Rifle Corps

Grandpa, Reginald Knott was injured at Monte Cassino and treated at 97th General Hospital. I have the letter my Grandma received. He signed up as soon as War broke out at served under Montgomery in North Africa.

L/Sgt. Norman Noel "Bill" Prebble 11th Btn Kings Royal Rifle Corps

Norman Prebble served in Egypt, the Western desert, Italy and Greece. He appeared in a story in the Victor comic relating to a ski patrol he was involved in.
