Capt. John Alfred Nash 10th Field Regiment Royal Artillery

John Nash, born in 1919, was brought up in Worcester, attending the Royal Worcester Grammar School. He was employed in the Post Office as a trainee manager and served in the local Territorials. He was a Bombadier when the war broke out and he was immediately called up and sent to an OTC, joining his regiment in time for Dunkirk. He was then on coastal defence in Yorkshire, and in 1942 met and married Mildred Chard of Banbury in Oxfordshire. Six weeks later he was sent to India. In 1944 he was part of the force that relieved the British Garrison at Kohima.

After the war he was in the TA for a while but resigned in the mid 1950s. He worked for many years as a Supplies Officer in the National Health Service. He has a daughter and a son, who served in the Queen's Regiment.

David Nash

Gnr. Frank Lee 10th Field Regiment Royal Artillery (d.29th Sep 1942)

Frank Lee is my great, great uncle. He died of hepatitis whilst serving in India with the 10th Field Regiment of the Royal Artillery. He's buried in the Madras (Chennai) War Cemetery. Does anyone have any photos of the 10th Field Regiment, RA?

Nick Steele

Cpl/Sgt. William Errol Redmile Gordon 10th Field Regiment Royal Artillery

All I know for sure is that William Gordon was in North Africa in 1942. I believe he was with the BEF at Dunkirk. He married at St Johns's Church, Stamford, Lincs on Christmas Day 1940 - I assume that was a special dispensation for military personnel due to ship out somewhere soon.

Robin Redmile-Gordon

Lance Bdr. James Davis 10th Field Regiment Royal Artillery

My father James Davis was a guest of the Third Reich for 5 years, he was captured at Dunkirk in May 1940 and was taken to Stalag XXIb in Poland. He was transferred to Stalag8b Lamsdorf and was on the infamous Death March. Can anyone remember him?

Peter Davis
