60th (North Midland) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery
60th (North Midland) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery was a territorial unit made up of 237th (Lincoln) and 239th Batteries. They served in France and Belgium, on Home Defence duties, in Syria, North Africa and India and Burma.

Feb 1944 Chindit force preparations In early February 1944 preparations began for the 2nd Chindit Expedition. The Special Force or 3rd Indian Division as it was known consisted of the following units, which were split into Columns.3rd West African Brigade and 14th Brigade

My grandfather, Leonard Lilley, belonged to the Territorial Army serving with 237th Battery, 60th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery and was mobilised when war broke out. He was among those who were evacuated from Dunkirk (Operation Dynamo), by MV Royal Daffodil.T A Musson
