54th Field Company, Royal Engineers
54th Field Company, Royal Engineers served with 70th Division and saw action in the Burma Campaign during the Second World War.
9th November 1942 Watermanship Course 
Feb 1944 Chindit force preparations In early February 1944 preparations began for the 2nd Chindit Expedition. The Special Force or 3rd Indian Division as it was known consisted of the following units, which were split into Columns.

Spr. John Alfred Woodger 54th Field Coy. Royal Engineers (d.7th Jul 1944) In Memory of John Alfred Woodger,
Remembered with Honour
at Taukkyan War Cemetery.
John Woodger was a Sapper with the Chindit long range Special Forces, 54 Field Coy., Royal Engineers who died on 7th of July 1944 Age 23,
of exhaustion, dysentery & beri beri.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Woodger of New Haw, Weybridge, Surrey.
