309th (1st City of Edinburgh) Battery, Royal Artillery
78th (Lowland) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery was a territorial unit made up of 309th (1st City of Edinburgh) and 310th (2nd City of Edinburgh) Batteries, later 456th Battery was added. They served on Home Defence duties and in North Africa, Sicily and Italy. In May 1944 they became 178th Medium Regiment, RA.
89th Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery was formed in 1940 by the conversion of 11th Battalion, The Buffs. It was made up of 308th, 309th and 310th LAA Batteries. They saw action with 49th (West Riding) Division across North Western Europe.

We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home.If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes.
