3rd Battalion, Coldstream Guards was in Egypt when war broke out in 1939. They saw action in North Africa and Palestine.

W Lader served with the 3rd Btn Coldstream Guards British Army. I have his unissued dogtags, made in preparation for deployment to the Far East and would love to get them home to his family. L/Sgt. Melvyn William Morgan 3rd Btn. Coldstream Guards
Melvyn Morgan was transported to Muhlenburg PoW camp Stalag 4B. He survived the war and became a police officer, and later a Deputy at Rossington Colliery, Doncaster.Dennis Morgan
Frederick Charles Wilson 3rd Btn. Coldstream Guards
My grandad Frederick Wilson served in the Second World War. He was a prisoner of war until he returned home at the end of the war. He died in 1992Nicola Timson
L/Cpl. William Tweddle 3rd Btn. Coldstream Guards (d.14th September 1943)
Unfortunately, I have no stories of Bill Tweddle. He died in Italy and his body lies in Salerno War Cemetery. Both he and his brother Tom enlisted, Tom made it home.Zoe Glover
Grdsmn. Cyril Sidney Malcolm Richardson 3rd Btn. Coldstream Guards (d.21st Oct 1943)
Cyril Richardson escaped from PG 133/5 and or PG 133/16 in Italy and made it to Switzerland, but sadly died 9 days later of pneumonia.Duncan Boar
Pte Gerard Gribbin 3rd Btn Coldstream Guards
Gerard Gribben served with the 3rd Battalion Coldstream Guards in WW2. He joined early and came home with his uniform on and put his gun under the stairs. He didn't talk about it much but mentioned tough fighting at Monte Cassino.
L/Cpl. Raymond Keith Ganner 3rd Btn. Coldstream Guards
Raymond Ganner was my Grandad. He never spoke much about the war I have been trying to research him as much as possible but am not having much luck. I do know that he was injured on 24th of October 1944 in Italy, Catarelto Ridge I believe I have recently come into possession of his medals and some photos of him. After the war he became an RSM and was a prison guard at Colchester MCTC.

Alfred Bland served with the 3rd Coldstream Guards.
L/Sjt. William Arthur Woolman 3rd Btn. Coldstream Guards (d.30th Dec 1941)
William Woolman was my great-grandfather. He was killed in action in Africa, and is remembered at the Alamein Memorial. I cannot find information about the battle he was killed in.Jonathon Woolman
