241st Battery, Royal Artillery
61st Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Artillery was a unit of the territorial Army based at Rothesay. It was made up of 241st, 242nd, 243rd and 244th Batteries. From the outbreak of war it was part of 9th (Scottish) Infantry Division and was engaged in the defence of the the United Kingdom. On the 7th of August 1940 it transferred to 51st (Highland) Infantry Division. they remained in the United Kingdom until 16th of June 1942 they sailed for Egypt and served in Libya and Tunisia. They landed in Sicily on the 10th of July 1943. Returning to the United Kingdom in November to begin training for the Normandy Landings. They served across Western Europe from June 1944 onwards.
77th Heavy Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery was a unit of the Territorial Army, in 1939 it was made up of 239th (Glamorgan) Battery, 240th (Glamorgan) Battery, 241st (Glamorgan) Battery and 242nd (Glamorgan) Battery. They saw action in the Defence of Britain and in Java.
