1st Battalion, Herefordshire Regiment
1st Battalion, Herefordshire Regiment served with 159th Brigade, 53rd (Welsh) Infantry Division. In May 1942 they transferred with 159th Brigade to 11th Armoured Division. They saw action across North Western Europe.

Wanted: Digital copies of Group photographs, Scrapbooks, Autograph books, photo albums, newspaper clippings, letters, postcards and ephemera relating to WW2. We would like to obtain digital copies of any documents or photographs relating to WW2 you may have at home.If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes.

RW Marsh served with the 1st Btn. Hertfordshire Regiment British Army. I have his unissued dogtags, made in preparation for deployment to the Far East and would love to get them home to his family. Cpl. Stanley Frederick Buttifant 1st Btn. The Herefordshire Regiment, King's Shropshire Ligh (d.01st May 1945)
all he said was" We was surrounded by germans", when the fog lifted in the morning got they were captured and spent the rest of war in Stalag b3 or d3.T Bennett
